The Basics in Excel

Excel gives you the possibility to do millions of things....literally..., but to be able to start well, you need to cover the following basic topics.

But first and most important starting point is in this phrase:

BEFORE YOU START TYPING ANYTHING.....

THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT TO DO,

MAKE A PLAN,

A LIST OF WHAT IS NEEDED,

DEFINE EXACTLY YOUR GOAL.

Then you can start typing and entering data in your spreadsheed.

Otherwise your are going to lose a great deal of time, eventually money (if this is for work), and may be credibility and may be you job.

Of course you can use your first sheet to type exactly this.

Sheets: this is the place where everything happens. The sheets in detail.

Cells: all about Cells, how to enter text, modify it, enter formulas, etc...

Columns: what are columns, how to select them, move them, etc...

Rows: same as previous but rows.

Select, Copy and Paste: the essentials in order to get quickly around.

Basic Formulas on Numbers:  how to use formulas, sums, multiplication, divisions, substractions, or add up a row or column and other basic functions with numbers

Basic Formulas on Words: how to use formulas on words, how do you put words togethers, find words automatically, etc...

More Complex formulas: how to use complex formulas, they can be very useful for daily Excel usage, naming cells, creating arrays.

Graphs or charts: how to make an Excel charts and graphic is explained here

Make nice tables: how to put headers on rows and columns, colour the cells, etc...
