Select cells that are different in two columns in Excel

For example, I want to compare the names list from 2 reports. I have placed them side by side. I want to identify the difference in names.

To do it in Excel, here is the answer:

a) Select the 2 lists, press F5 and in the "Go To" dialog that pops up, click on "Special" (Alternatively, click on "Find & Select" under "Home". Click on "Go To Special").

b) In the "Go To Special" dialog box, click on "Row differences", click OK.

c) All the cells that have different values for the same rows are highlighted.

d) Same comparison could be applied across columns by selecting "Column differences" in the "Go To Special" dialog box.
