Watch window in Excel

While working with a huge excel sheet with hundreds of rows and columns, there might be a need to ascertain the values of certain cells very often.

For example, if the sheet contains a lot of formula and varous cells are dependent on those formulae, to make sure the correct value in those cells, one has to scroll often.

Considering a large worksheet, scrolling and checking is a tedious task and there is also a possibility of human error, which might affect the whole calculation.

But with the help of watch window feature in excel, this task of checking is made simpler.

TheWatch Windowmakes it convenient to inspect, audit, or confirm formula calculations and results in large worksheets.

By using theWatch Window, the user need not repeatedly scroll or go to different parts of the worksheet.

The following example shows how to use the watch window.

1.Select the cells that you want to watch. To select all cells on a worksheet with formulas, on the Home tab, in the Editing group, click Find & Replace, click Go To Special, and then click Formulas.

2.On the Formulas tab, in the Formula Auditing group, click Watch Window.
